Can I inspect the quarantine facility before I make a booking?
You are very welcome to inspect our quarantine facility and see where your pet will be accommodated.

How much will the quarantine cost?
Contact us and we will provide you with a current price list.

Can I visit my pet in quarantine?
We encourage all owners to visit their pets while they are in quarantine. All owners/visitors will be asked to sign a Visitors book recording their details at each visit. To meet MAF regulations there are a number of restrictions that must be observed. These will be explained to you upon arrival. You will be taken to your pets kennel during visiting hours where you are welcome to play, groom, bath your pet or just relax with your pet.

If you are unable to visit your pet we can keep in touch via phone or email. You can also post us a favorite toy or bed cover - something that smells of home.

What can I bring in to make my pets stay more comfortable?
You are welcome to bring in bedding, toys and perhaps a favorite treat. All non-food items must be able to be washed and returned to you before your pet's departure from our facility.

What type of diet do you offer?
We feed ROYAL CANIN as our preferred premium dry food. We also add a variety of Pedigree Pal tinned food if required to stimulate appetite. If your pet requires a Special Diet please be sure to inform us prior to your pets arrival. You may also provide your own food if you wish (this must come in a vermin proof container clearly marked with pets name and daily amounts).

My pet is on medication is this - can you administer this?
Yes we can administer all medication. Please let us know at the time of booking and provide as much information as possible to assist us with the care of your pet.
If your pet is on medication please let us know when you make your booking, as not all drugs are available or licensed for use in New Zealand. We may have to find alternatives or request permission from MAF to import these drugs.

How will my pet cope?
We are a small quarantine kennel, dedicated to caring for your pets needs while they are with us. They will be tired from their flight and climate change, however, a soft warm voice, filled with encouragement, will soon have them settled.
As part of our unique design, the dogs have partial visual stimulus with the dogs beside them, however no direct contact. They are not enclosed on all sides by solid walls and the kennels are light and airy allowing the dogs to settle in quickly.

What happens if my pet is ill while in quarantine?
A MAF vet will visit your pet upon arrival then weekly during her quarantine period.
We have private veterinary surgeons on call 24 hours a day. If your pet shows any signs of illness during his/her stay we will access veterinary attention immediately. Every effort will be made to contact the owners regarding any concerns that may arise should veterinary assistance be sought.

Do you have heating?
All our units can be heated if required.

What happens when my pet is released from quarantine?
At the end of the quarantine period our MAF officer will provide written approval for your pet to leave the facility. Only when this is received can your pet be released.
