Hi Ladies
We all made it home without incident. The
dogs wanted to kill Puzzle but we are dealing with
it. The three of them are quite happy to be
home and are enjoying having them here.
Words cannot express our thanks you took beautiful
care of our creatures. Thank you also for the
lovely gift.
I will send the pic's of the beach, cannot wait to
get them there.
Thanking you both again
Sam, Anthony, Devon and the three kids.

Hi Robyn and Sharon
Just a quick note to let you know how Barbie is.
She has settled in like nothing has happened, a few
sniffs around the house and life has carried on as
usual for her. Her personality is exactly the
same, the kids can do anything they like to her,
like wrap her in a blanket and carry her around all
day! She is getting used to going outside and we are
hoping to get rid of the litter tray soon.
Thank you again for everything, I realised I forgot
to pay you for the extra night... Hope you are
both well. Have a very Merry Christmas
although I imagine your guests are just as demanding
right through the holidays.
Kind regards
Helen Vermaak

Hi Robyn & Sharon
I hope you guys are well.
I can't believe how time has flown…
we have just been so hectic and also still
trying to settle that time has just run away.
Well, our first week having Juba & Thoko
back home was quiet a stressful one. The
first time we left them at home on their own the
heavens opened and we had one of the biggest
storms and downpours we've had since we've been
here.
The dogs were petrified and were crying so much
that our neighbour sent us a text telling us
that the dogs were crying. When we arrived
home, Juba (you could have guessed) had climbed
over the fence (which Stuart had said she would
NEVER be able to get over) into the other part
of our garden which meant they were then
separated and I think stressed Thoko out even
more! Stuart has since made the fence
higher!
I had to go back to work on the Monday and by
the Wednesday they had chewed the cat flap latch
off and on the Thursday they tried to get in
through the cat flap breaking the glass door in
the process! Luckily they stopped trying
to get through because the way the glass had
broken they would have been in ribbons by the
time I got home.
They seem to have settled down now thank
goodness although today there was a big storm
and Juba was still panting when I arrived home
from work.
It's amazing that they are now a lot better
behaved when being walked and if another dog
barks at them from behind a gate they just
ignore them whereas before they would try to get
to the other dog.
Once again, thanks so much to you guys (and
your daughters Robyn) for all the care and
attention you gave to the dogs and to me!!!!
Love
Vicki

Dear Robyn,
We are so grateful to you and your staff for
making the Quarantine process bearable for us
and our cats. Although leaving the US was
very stressful, we were most concerned about how
our cats would cope with the move. It was
literally a breath of fresh air to arrive at
your facility and to see what comfortable and
spacious quarters they would be living in.
The screened-in porch was so helpful after the
long plane trip; the cats were thrilled to feel
the sunshine, smell the freshly-cut grass, and
hear the cows mooing nearby.
But, you did more than provide a warm and
secure place for them to stay by going the extra
mile. From special-ordering food for our
finicky grand old dame HopeKitty to brushing
skittish Tasha to playing with separation
anxiety-ridden Sabu, you enabled us to relax
knowing that they were being pampered in a
peaceful place.
The cats are home now and adjusting well - we
have you to thank for such a smooth beginning to
our new lives in New Zealand!
Sincerely yours,
The Wallenbergs

Dear Robyn
Everyone said that Bubbles’
spirit would be broken and her personality
changed by quarantine, well they were wrong
and we have you to thank for that! She is a
happy camper, toys and all, and she
absolutely loves you!! Thank you so
much for all the prep talks in the beginning
when I was worried and paranoid about
everything known to man, and all the chats
ever since. You go way beyond what is
required for both doggies and owners and I
truly appreciate it!
Both Bubbles and I will miss you guys; so
don’t be surprised if we show up
on your doorstep for a visit after we go
home. Pethaven is a great place and I will
recommend it to anyone who loves their dog!
They can forget about their dog losing
weight while in quarantine though that is
for sure. I swear bubbles has picked
up on weight instead of slimming down.
Thank you from the bottom of our
hearts!!!!!
Elmarie and Bubbles.

Hi Everyone
I wanted to say that we have just brought
our Newfy boy (Sweet Riverdance E's A Hot
Shot - "Dylan") home from
quarantine at Pethaven Quarantine Kennels
and we are thrilled at the loving care he
has recieved there. Robyn has looked after
him superbly both physically and mentally.
Although I am not so sure I like the way
Dylan loves Aunty Robyn so much!!! I could
be a tad jealous!! But kidding aside it is
wonderful to know he has had such terrific
care and has come out in such great shape.
We are also thrilled with the wonderful way
Pethaven looked after us humans also -
particularly the 'mop up' at the airport!!
LOL and all the emotional support through
these past weeks. Awesome!
Thank You Robyn - with all our hearts!
Diane, Will, Dylan and the rest of
the Newfs!

Pethaven Kennel
New Zealand
Attention: Robyn and Pater
Re: FOXIE AND VAGABOND SCHUMANN- EX SOUTH
AFRICA 5/12/06-30/3/07
Dear Robyn and Pater,
As I write, our precious dogs Vagabond and
Foxie, have only one week more to go befo re
they are released and we can begin our new,
safe and better life in New Zealand as our
family is reunited, once again. Before
leaving South Africa, we were overcome with
anxiety and fear for the wellbeing during
the required lengthy 4-month quarantine
period – and separation from their
familiar surroundings. Once we arrived
in New Zealand, it was clear to us that they
were in the best possible situation under
the circumstances, that, they could be.
Their obvious affection for both yourself
and Pater reassured us that they were safe
and happy. We especially appreciated
the flexibility you allowed us with regard
to the visiting, feeding and grooming of our
dogs – we are convinced that its
important for the dogs overall well-being.
While we have the highest regard for your
knowledge and professionalism, it is your
fundamentally kind and caring nature that
will always be your competitive advantage.
The rural farm setting was also a great new
experience for our dogs and there was always
something for Foxie to bark at. We’d
like to express our special thanks, for your
personal attention to Foxies injured leg and
Vagabonds skin rashes. Your ongoing nursing,
icing and mediating we know, added to your
already long list of daily tasks, but was so
critical to their recovery. They both
leave pethaven in excellent health,
personalities unchanged – but with a
complete devotion to their adopted ‘mom
and dad’ – and the place
they called “home” for 4
months.
Dennis and I appreciate more than we can
say your unique understanding of our
personal circumstances and for extending
your generosity and kindness to us, way
beyond what can be considered the norm. You
were really the first “kiwis”
we came to know personally and you have made
us feel welcome. We hope one day, at an
appropriate time, we can share our homelands
treasures with you, should you ever manage
to leave your beloved Pethaven Kennels long
enough for us to do so.
With very personal regards and thanks
RUTH AND DENNIS SCHUMANN
