Hi,
We are fine and settled in Red Beach north
of Auckland. I am sorry I have not sent a
thank you note before. We have moved 4 times
since we last saw you. Times were very busy.
Dave has a good job on the North Shore and I
am at home organizing the house. The container
with our furniture arrived from Texas last
month. We are very grateful to you for taking
such a good care of Mishka in the quarantine
last June. Thanks to you she is well and
happy, and just turned 14! We would recommend
Pethaven to all pet owners who are bringing
their cats and dogs to New Zealand. It is the
best facility in New Zealand.
I took the picture looking at
the bathroom mirror so it is not the sharpest.
Mishka is on raw meat and veggies and she
loves the food here. Dave says she gets home
cooked rice pilaf and lamb while he gets fish
and chips from the store. Let me know if you
need references with better pictures of
Mishka. That reminds me of some quarantine
pictures we took. Let me look. All the best to
both of you. Drop us a line if you have time.
Eva, Dave and Mishka

Dear Robyn and Sharon
Thanks so much for the way you took care of
Monty, Skippy, Guts and Lovely! Now they are so
happy in NZ with no adjustment problems at all,
and such wonder at their new environment, it
really was worth all the fuss!
Here are some photos of the dogs in their new
digs.
Love from Melissa and Chris |

Hi Robyn and Sharon,
Just had to share with you that Zaki came home
and fitted right in, he and Blake are getting on
well. Blake was rolling over trying to get him
to play if you please. Have attached a couple of
photos taken after we got home.
Thanks once again it was really nice to collect
him looking so brushed and cared for. I have
sent photos to Michal so hopefully she will be a
bit happier.
cheers Judy |

Hi Robyn,
I wanted to send you this email a while ago, but things got delayed. Our pets stayed with you from Jan-Feb 2011.
I have emailed Worlwide Animal travel out of Vancouver and raved abut services. I can't think of enough positive things to say about Pethaven. Anyone who is making a move and heading to NZ should use your facility - it is worth the drive to Auckland. Not only did you make transisition to NZ much less stressful, but you treated our pets really well. Your cat facilities are amazing - it's like kitty heaven. They are large and have lovely views. I was so happy that Molly's kennel was large and that you even added a pool. It was a hard adjustment for Molly - she came from Canada in the middle of winter and the pool helped keep her cool. You really treated her well. You searched for a food that would work with her sensitive stomach. I really felt she was loved. It made the whole process of quarantine so much easier.
Molly and the cats have settled into life here. Molly loves having her own yard and looks forward to walks on the beach. At first, she ran from the waves but now we can't keep her out of the water. The cats are enjoying bird watching and their new home. I simply selected Pethaven based on a feeling I had through our email correspondence. I am so happy that I followed my instincts. I just can't say enough positive things about the kindness of the staff, size of the kennels, traetment of my pets and cleanliness of the facility. I've attached a picture of Molly for you. She's enjoying playing at the beach.
Thanks again for everything. Should you have any hesitant customers, please feel free to use us as a reference.

South
African 40 day Party
Foxie and Vagabonds mum and dad have been
counting down the days and to celebrate this
we decided to have a Party!!!
We had a Liver bread baking competition and
after the taste test thought it only fair to
award everyone equal first.
Liver Bread (Ruth Schumann)
1 egg
1 banana
1 tub of chicken liver (250 gms)
1 cup flour
Throw everything in a food processor and
mix until semi smooth.
Bake in a flat greased tin at 180 for 20min

Thank
you very much for the special day you
afforded us. The 3 of us really appreciate
your time, effort and company.
It seems like just the other day when we
started the process, the anxiety of what
lies ahead, how he will handle it being a
protective South African child, staying
outside in a kennel compared to his couch
and duvet in the living room. Yes we had
lots of questions and concerns, not even to
mention the flights and handlers at the
airports, what if customs find something
wrong?! Typical paranoid parents that
believe their child is the most precious,
exclusive and unique being that demands
special treatment. Type
of: "Robyn when I move my left
eyebrow, you must ask, I should jump how
high Master Alexander?!!
Well he could not ask for a better team
that looked after him. From the preparation
team in South Africa (Dr Francois Steenkamp,
Onderstepoort, State Veterinary Dr Beke
Maposa, Don and Sue Spooner from Kookaburra,
Sean from Quantas in Johannesburg) to the
airport staff in Sydney and Auckland.
We were really blessed to have the most
loving and caring team taking care of
Alexander.
We thank you for being such passionate
people and loving our children - it is a
rarity to find people to love animals this
much. Looking at the media it seems to be a
sic society of cruel abuse, neglect and
ill-treatment of animals that provides
pleasure to some individuals. Maybe the
courts should punish these people by letting
them work at animal shelters and places like
Pethaven where they can see what we all have
to endure to be together again.
Really from the bottom of our hearts THANK
YOU for looking after Alexander as if he is
one of your own.
Kind regards
Hans & Elna van Rooyen |
